Portico clock in white marble with rich ornamentation of cha - Lot 226
Portico clock in white marble with rich ornamentation of chased and gilded bronzes featuring palmettes. It is surmounted by two lyres in the round and a covered pot embellished with feathers. The two black marble columns are decorated with medallions in Wedgwood porcelain on a blue background featuring allegories draped in the Antique style, and friezes of falling gilded bronzes decorated with pineapples, ears of wheat, feathers and bunches of fruit. The round white enameled dial features Arabic numerals. The key movement is signed "Jouin à Paris". It stands on four toupie feet. Louis XVI period - Late 18th century Height: 57 cm (Accidents and missing parts on the enamelled dial, restoration on the right-hand column)
